Additional Gifts for Travelers
If you haven’t looked through my first blog post in the menu, make sure to do that—that’s where the bulk of my recommendations are.
I LOVE recommending products! In addition to my annual Holiday List email, I send my clients product recommendations leading up to my trips. I also field a ton of requests from family, friends, and friends of friends, asking for advice, and I love it! Keep it coming!
So now, I’d like to monetize my knowledge and experience, AT NO EXTRA COST TO YOU! Please consider supporting me by shopping through the links below, (and in my other Holiday List post in this blog). Thank you!
And if you’re looking for a recommendation that isn’t included here, please reach out to me, and I’ll send you my recommendation, if I have one.

CONTACT LENS CASES: These are the ultimate travel liquids hack, because they hold more than you think, and they’re truly leak-proof! If you’ve ever decanted true liquid into a travel container (serum, makeup remover, etc), as opposed to creams, you know they leak. You’ll never have that problem using these, because they’re made to contain contact lens solution. And as a bonus, these take up practically no room! I can pack 3+ weeks’ worth of lip balm, cream blush, sunscreen, and makeup in only 3 of these! (Disclaimer—On most of my trips, I don’t use sunscreen every day, and when I do, I only use it on my face.)
THERMAL SIT PAD: Even though bringing one of these is definitely trip-dependent, everyone should at least have one in their travel kit for those trips! Obviously, this is a required item if you’re hiking; it doesn’t matter if it’s winter or summer, this pad is easy to carry, and it makes sitting on rocks more comfortable and safer (thermal protection from cold ground). This also comes in handy if you’ll be sitting in a stadium, especially on a cold day.
VOMIT BAGS: This is the item you never, in a million years, thought you needed to buy. Yes, I said NEEDED. Do you always check to make sure the airline-provided vomit bag is actually there? Have you ever wondered how long it’s been there, and who’s messed with it over time? And finally, if you’ve ever been really sick, you know that there’s more coming out of you than can fit in that little bag. For these reasons alone, you need this product. But if you’re still not convinced … I recently found out that those provided vomit bags are NOT LEAKPROOF! This box has enough bags to last you many trips, even if you share some with your traveling companions. And inside each bag is an absorbent insert that can absorb 750ml (the amount in a bottle of wine). I keep one at the bottom of my carryon—takes up zero space and weighs nothing.
WINE BOTTLE PROTECTOR BAGS: All protector bags protect your wine and absorb the spill should the bottle break, but what sets these bags apart from others is that they’re not bulky. They’re made from heavy-duty plastic with zip-top closures and an absorbent insert that can absorb 750ml, an entire bottle of wine, should it break. And they lay flat when they’re empty—I pack them into the outside side pocket of my suitcase, so they don’t get in my way until I need to use them!
PICARIDIN TOWELETTES: I try to travel with only a carryon whenever I can, so I’m always looking for ways to replace my liquid products and free up space in that quart-sized bag! These can be shoved into all the nooks and crannies of your bag, so you’re covered for your entire trip. Plus, it smells good—Avon Skin So Soft:) Bug repellent, in the places where its critical to wear it (malaria, zika, dengue areas), is hard or impossible to find in stores—so don’t ever count on buying this locally.
TRTL NECK PILLOW: If you don’t fly in a lay-flat seat, this is a game-changer! Between the comfortable internal support and the soft wrap-around band, this keeps your neck straight without effort, eliminating neck strain.
